What is UEBT?
UEBT (Union for the Ethical Biotrade) is an international non-profit European association that promotes the sourcing of natural ingredients with respect. UEBT supports and verifies the sourcing commitments of companies that contribute to a world in which all people and biodiversity thrive.
To this end, UEBT establishes best practices on how companies and their suppliers source biodiversity-derived ingredients for the beauty, food, natural pharmaceuticals, flavors and fragrances sectors. , herbs and spices, among others.
Yves Rocher has been a member of UEBT since 2020.
What does this mean for Yves Rocher?
At Yves Rocher, the commitment has been evident since 1999 , in particular through our 60 hectares of organic fields cultivated in agroecology in Brittany .
By becoming a member of the UEBT in 2020, Yves Rocher has joined companies committed to the ethical sourcing of ingredients from biodiversity.
In 2021, Yves Rocher therefore decided to take an additional step towards the protection of species and people thanks to the UEBT certification of its Gacilian sectors. T he 9 emblematic plants of the brand, Roman Chamomile, Matricaria Chamomile, Cornflower, Calendula, Ficoide, Edulis, Nasturtium, Mint and Arnica are now UEBT certified.
The certification of our supply chains is a first step in our sustainable supply approach because Yves Rocher aims to have its entire supply system certified by 2023.
"Working with UEBT is a powerful way for Yves Rocher to demonstrate its commitment to consumers, governments and other supply chain actors."
